Kiige, born Patrick Kiige Wamaguru, is the founder and lead producer of Soundbykiige. With a passion for music and a keen ear for detail, Kiige aims to craft a unique sound that blends traditional African rhythms with modern production techniques.
Despite having no musical heritage, his interest in music began at an early age. After getting his first guitar, 'which he never learnt to play' he developed a keen interest in learning music and later picked up the piano.
His professional journey began in 2018 with a short stint as an assistant music teacher at a private school in Nairobi. He then took up a studio executive role in Dar es salaam where he developed his skills in audio production, label management and showbiz. In 2023, he released his debut single 'Shida Baadaye' featuring as an artist and proceeded to record more unreleased music before deciding to fully focus on music, podcasts, radio and live concert production.
A year later, he reconnected with his former classmate Leslie Okuru A.K.A Les and produced his first solo project featuring the single 'Silly Bouy'. Impressed with their connection, Les urged him to establish his first recording studio which would later grow into the record label 'soundbykiige'.
He spent the best part of 2024 and 2025 building his brand by working with various artists including Collo, Kristoff, Jace among others. Jace and Les later signed record deals at the label and went on to perform as co-headliners at the label's debut concert, Woman of Groove Concert. Kiige went on to collaborate with Elanja and Mia Nane on their concert later that year before resuming his responsibilities to the label.
In 2026 he teamed up with his medschool colleagues to produce the MedMic.Ke podcast as he continued to develop his record label. In a private interview early this year, he hinted at releasing two major projects with Les and Jace. Declining to go into details, he is qouted saying, "one of them will be an Ep and the other one will be an Album, so lets wait and see how that goes!"
